Manic's ENDORSER, Session Drummer

Robert Hooks / USA, DE

"I fell in love with the drums at a very early.  Beating on pots, pans, buckets and anything else I could beat on. But it wasn’t until I was in middle school, when I was about ten years old, when my musical path truly began. My first gig came in the form of playing in church every Sunday when I was 13 or 14.  BY my senior year I was playing out in the local bars for jazz and blues jam sessions they had on Sunday nights.  Shortly after High School, I began sitting in with the Chuck Lambert Blues Band and Terraplane Blues Band before taking the seat in Terraplane as their drummer.  All the while playing in various blues jams and sitting in for various bands through-out the New Jersey, New York and Philly area.

In September of 2000 I moved to Atlanta to study at Atlanta Institute of Music.  It was there I began studying under Tom Knight and Creig Harber to name a few.  While in Atlanta I played for various churches and various bands of all styles.

In 2007, I joined the United States Army Band.

I currently play for various churches in Germany and sit in for various bands.

Musically, thanks to my upbringing around tons of different music, I can play in any style.  My goal is to continue to be a successful session musician and continue to perfect my craft."
